RADAR DISTANCE SENSORS

Our VEL Radar distance meters are GSM IoT radar sensors that use microwaves to measure the distance between the sensor and various objects (from 15 to 1200 cm). This type of sensor is highly reliable and accurate, even in locations where other sensors often become inaccurate due to, for example, steam or dust.

The distance meter is used in a wide range of applications where measuring distance in water and wastewater systems is relevant.

Say goodbye to manual measurements

A distance meter (laser or ultrasonic) is used when you want to measure distance, level, height, or volume without having to measure manually. Here are some common applications of our distance meters:

Agriculture

  • Grain storage / silos – measure the level of grain in the silo

  • Feed silos – monitor how much feed is left

  • Manure cellars / manure pits – measure livestock manure levels

  • Water tanks for animals – monitor water levels

Water and wastewater

  • Water wells and manholes – measure water levels

  • Wastewater systems – monitor levels in pumping stations

  • Dams and reservoirs – control water levels

Monitor the values in real time

The measurements are automatically transmitted to a digital system, where the user can monitor the values in real time.

The data can be accessed on a computer, tablet, or mobile device, making it easy to monitor levels without needing to physically visit the site.

An important feature is that the user can set desired threshold levels. When the level rises above or falls below these limits, the system automatically sends notifications or alarms, for example via app, SMS, or email. This allows for quick action if a tank is running low or if a level becomes too high.

This makes operations more efficient and safer, while also providing better control over inventory, liquids, and other resources within the facility.

Monitoring of municipal wastewater systems

Many municipalities across the country use our sensors to gain better visibility of levels within their wastewater systems. The sensors are installed in manholes and pumping stations, where they continuously measure the distance to the water or wastewater level.

With this level of insight, municipalities can quickly detect changes in the wastewater system. For example, a blockage in the pipes may cause the level in a manhole to rise. Our sensors detect this immediately, and the data is displayed directly in the system.

This enables municipalities to respond quickly and dispatch crews before flooding or other issues occur in the wastewater network.
